Today I found the task manager...
And memory info...

and dev tools...

Day 7!!

I finally realized I could find keyboard shortcuts for Pg Up, Pg Dn, Home, End, etc... Made my life a whole lot easier.

I didn't use this much yesterday because I finally had some work to do. I haven't yet tried to figure out how to do web development on the Cr-48 so I had to return to the ol' Windows.

I'm doing a job that "requires" Expression Web. There's not much getting around that. Also had to use Skype yesterday.

Day 5

Where did day 4 go? Who knows.

I had the chance to show off the Cr-48 to some classmates today. Interesting experience, having one of these in a room full of CSCI majors. I feared for its safety and left shortly after.

No real complaints today. Last night I realized you could have multiple windows, so now I'm playing around with that.

I just noticed that there's an update to be had. I'll get that later tonight and hope nothing breaks.

Day 3

This webcam would be so much more awesome if I could actually use it without having to log into some website first... Can't I just take a picture?

On that subject, why can't I use Skype?? There's no Skype web app for the Cr-48. No way to use it. Lame.

New topic: battery!

It's pretty amazing. I currently have 62% remaining and 5 hours and 20 minutes left to go. LOVE IT.

Day 2

First of all, this thing is definitely a bit hot right now and I've only had it on my lap for 15 minutes.

Anyway, today I took the Cr-48 on a trip to the outside world. I went to Best Buy to pick up a few things and carried this around with me to reference things I'd seen online. I activated the free 100 MB of Verizon Wireless 3G on the way to the store (while riding, not driving). I didn't have any trouble with it. I got great signal throughout the ride and in the store.

I love how easy this thing is to carry around, even with one hand, while navigating a busy Best Buy.

I still haven't had much time to try out apps/extensions/stuff but I hope to next week some time.

Two other people have logged into Google on it and no problems so far.

So far, I'm still loving it. :)

Uh, Google?

I know you said these things would give no leg burn, but my Cr-48 is getting a tad warm.

It's nothing compared to the fire of my old laptop. It would be comforting if I were sitting outside typing this, though.

Just saying.

Day One, Part 3

Now I'll get into more detailed thoughts.

Keep in mind that the computer I used before this was an Acer Aspire that refused to awaken from sleep and kinda sucked in general.

One of the things that is hard to get used to is the keyboard changes. The caps lock button is now a search button. I'm so used to using ctrl + t to open a new tab and search from the address bar that I'm finding it hard to use the new dedicated search button. Also, this is silly but the backspace button is a lot farther away than my old computer. So that's rough.

I love having back, forward, refresh buttons. No more hunting down two buttons at a time! I only need the one. My old computer had some wack volume buttons, too. These are much nicer.

The touch pad is hard to get used to. The whole thing is clickable and it doesn't respond when there are more than one finger trying to move at the same time on it. I've grown to love it, though. I like how two-finger scrolling works much better on the Cr-48 than my old computer. Right clicking (which is achieved by clicking with two fingers at once) is still a bit tricky. Maybe tomorrow I'll get the hang of it.

I miss the following buttons: home, end, pg up, pg down. I liked being able to get back to the top of FB, Twitter, etc... after scrolling for pages and pages. Hope I find a way around that soon.

I tried using Hulu because I'd heard it didn't work out so well. Sure doesn't. It loads very slowly and the video is jerky. Audio is fine.

I am in the process of trying out all the apps available in the Chrome store.

If anyone has something they'd like me to try on the Cr-48, let me know!
